Our club is organized around a core membership of service-minded men and women. Our commitment is built on our desire and willingness to serve those in our community. Kiwanis clubs worldwide sponsor Kiwanis youth organizations that provide young people with opportunities to perform community service and develop their leadership skills. K-Kids Clubs in elementary schools, Builders Clubs in middle schools and junior highs, Key Clubs in high schools, and Circle K clubs at the collegiate level reach out to those in need and develop future generations of leaders. We proudly sponsor the Key Club at Fallbrook Union High School and at Potter Middle School a Builders Club. Each of these youth clubs is headed by a school advisor who coordinates activities with our club's Sponsored Youth Representative. Young Children: Priority One (YCPO) is a continuing program supported by Kiwanis International, the California-Nevada-Hawaii District, Division 37, the Kiwanis Club of Fallbrook, and thousands of other clubs around the world since its inception in 1990. Our club identifies the greatest needs of young children in our community and develops projects to meet those needs. Our primary focus is on maternal and child health, child care and development, parent education and support, and safety and pediatric trauma. But our focus does not stop with young children. Many programs are devoted to providing help and care to the elderly. Our service projects also address other needs within the community, such as working to stop substance abuse, helping the elderly, promoting literacy, supporting youth sports and recreation, responding to disasters, and supporting specific persons in need.
The Commitment A Kiwanis commitment begins with your desire and willingness to serve your community. It is renewed because of the gratification you will find in serving others. The Kiwanis Club of Fallbrook's members are committed to serving the children of our community and the world. Time: Club members, on average, will invest about six hours a month by participating in club meetings, club projects, and volunteering their services in our community. There is no attendance requirement, but active participation is encouraged and members are recognized and rewarded for perfect attendance. Monetary: Beyond an initial membership induction fee
and annual dues, members contribute a portion of the cost of their weekly
breakfast to finance the administrative duties of the club. There are no
mandatory assessments. All monies needed to accomplish a
community service project are raised through local fund raising activities. The Tradition The Kiwanis tradition began in 1915 with the founding of our first club. Now headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kiwanis International is a thriving organization of service-minded individuals who respond to the unique needs of their communities and address worldwide issues by "Serving the Children of the World." The Kiwanis Club of Fallbrook, chartered in 1971, is proud of its ability to carry on this
tradition by "Serving the Children of Our Community." The Rewards
